On the boards:

Balancing structural necessities, energy performance requirements, exterior aesthetics, cost of construction, and access to view can be a tricky job. This house went through several iterations from start to finish as we kept balancing and rebalancing conflicting goals. These are near finished renderings exploring some color palette ideas and verifying the massing on this house because the final shape was deceptive in a 2-dimensional flat standard elevation.

Site visit to a construction site. We lifted this house a couple of feet to be compliant with FEMA regulations and added a second floor on top. At this point, it looks a little odd, but when they reframe the front porch it should return to it's status as a cute beach cottage. ... See MoreSee Less
