A dramatic close up always works for a house. The angle maximizes the variation in the front elevation and helps the various masses stand apart. Our original designs called for a bit more stone to help break up the front a bit more with the material selection since we didn't have a lot of room for actual depth. However, we didn't have to pay for it either. It's easy for us to draw pretty pictures, but in architecture, we're always playing with other people's money, so we'd better have a good reason and articulate that reason to get the owner's literal buy-in. ...
